ADVANCED COMPANY

At least 4th Grade (2020-21 School Year)

The East Cobb Theatrical Advanced Company is a musical theatre training programs designed for students with a passion for musical theatre who wish to further their skills in acting, singing, and dancing. Both companies require a higher level of commitment and a desire to improve and refine musical theatre techniques. Entrance is by audition only.

5 HOUR CLASS COMMITMENT EACH WEEK

  • BALLET
  • TAP
  • ADVANCED GROUP VOICE
  • ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATER DANCE
  • ADVANCED ACTING

Company members are allowed to take any ballet and tap classes that fits their schedule and skill level. Group Voice, Musical Theatre Dance, and Acting classes are at a preassigned time on Tuesdays for each company. Please refer to our “Classes” page for specific times.

Checklist for those wanting to join Company

  1. Read all the information on this page.
  2. Check out the calendar and make sure it works with your schedule.
  3. Register through the “Audition Registration” button at the top of this page or here.
  4. If you’d like to audition in person, click the “In Person Audition Time Slots” button at the top of this page or here to sign up for a time slot.
  5. Select and memorize a monologue for your audition (within the time frame).
  6. Select and prepare 20 – 32 bars of a musical theatre song (backed or a cappella).
  7. Learn the dance for the company you’re going to audition for!

AUDITIONS

* We will now be holding in person auditions on July 16th from 12:30 – 2:00. You may choose to either submit a video audition or attend the in person auditions. Students wishing to audition in person must register for a time slot below.

Auditions will be video submissions and are due by July 24th, 2020 to blpcompanyauditions2020@gmail.com. Please note that auditioning does not guarantee a spot in a company. You must meet the standard, not the number of people. We are at liberty to ask you to take a private lesson if you are struggling in a certain area.

If you are in 7th or 8th grade and wish to audition for both the Advanced Company and Elite Company, please prepare for the Elite company audition and your audition will serve for both companies. 

  • Prepare a monologue – 45 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds, memorized

  • Learn the dance combination to “Wait For It” (from Hamilton) that is posted below.

  • Prepare 20-32 bars of any musical theater song (a cappella or backed)

FEES

Once you make company, you will be required to pay a one time $350 company fee and sign a contract committing to the full year and to everything company entails. Company members will receive a company sweatshirt. Company Members will pay $255 a month for nine months (this is the cost of taking five classes a week). Each additional class company members choose to take will be an extra $35 a month.

If finances are an issue, please reach out to us and we will see what we can work out. Please note that you will not be charged until after you make company.

Please note that company members are not required to participate in Open School Shows and therefore company dues do not include performances for open school shows.

  • Dance Shoes and attire

GIRLS: pink ballet, black tap, and nude jazz or nude character shoes
BOYS: black ballet, black tap, and nude jazz shoes

OPEN SCHOOL

Open classes and shows are available to the public.
Anyone can take and participate in these classes and shows.

 

COMPANY

Company classes and shows refers to classes and shows only offered/available for East Cobb Theatrical company members and/or Dance Company members(ie. Shrek the Musical, the musical revue, and company group classes for acting, musical theater, dance, and voice).
