The East Cobb Theatrical Musical Theatre Company is a musical theatre training program designed for students with a passion for musical theatre who wish to further their skills in acting, singing, and dancing. The company requires a higher level of commitment and a desire to improve and refine musical theatre techniques. Entrance is by audition only. This year the Company Members will perform a Company Only Winter Show, Matilda the Musical!!

What does each company entail?

• Must be at least in 4th grade

• 5 hour class commitment each week:

Ballet or Modern (for those wishing to pursue Musical Theatre, we recommend ballet)
Group Voice
Musical Theatre Dance

• Annual company show in February this year, Matilda the Musical

• Featured dance scene in each open school show

• End-of-year musical revue with college and industry scouts

• Theatre Competitions / Festivals (if offered)

• Priority regisration for classes

*Ballet and Tap classes will be open school classes so students can dance at their proper skill level whereas voice, musical theatre dance, and acting classes will be closed school classes and only have members of their company in them.*

Auditions will be held May 14th and 15th, 2021. Please note that auditioning does not guarantee a spot in a company. You must meet the standard, not the number of people. We are at liberty to ask you to take a private lesson if you are struggling in a certain area. Auditions will be in person at the Brittany Leazer Productions studio.

– Prepare a monologue – 1 minute to 2 minutes, memorized.

– Bring Jazz shoes and wear clothes appropriate for dancing as you will learn a dance.

– Prepare 1:15 – 1:30 of any musical theater song (with a backing track).
