THE LION KING KIDS

The BLP Junior Players will present Lion King Kids. For K – 4th Graders.

Disney’s The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now, for the first time ever, you have the opportunity to produce this one-of-a-kind musical in your school. The African savannah comes to life on your stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle… and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.

This year kids will have a two casts option. Cast One will meet on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15pm and Cast Two will meet on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Please register for the day your child will need to participate.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During rehearsals students will actively engage in an interactive theatre education as well as learn the production process from start to finish. In the class students will explore characterization, basic theatre terms, improv exercises. Students will also be trained how to make interesting choices on stage, movement, and vocal instruction. 

Please note, each cast meets weekly.

CAST ONE (Tuesday Cast)

FIRST REHEARSAL:

Tuesday August 24th / 3:15 – 4:15pm

MEETING TIME:

Tuesdays / 3:15–4:15pm

BOOT CAMP REHEARSAL:

Saturday October 9th / 10 am – 12 pm

TECH REHEARSALS:

Tuesday October 26th / 3:30 – 6:30pm
(Dress Rehearsal (costumes only))

Wednesday October 27th / 3:30 – 5:30pm
(Full Dress Rehearsal (makeup/hair/costumes))

SHOW DATES:

Friday October 28th at 6:30 pm
(call time 4:30 pm)

Saturday October 30th at 2 pm
(call time 12:45 pm)

A show maybe added on Sunday October 31st if there is a demand.

AUDITIONS

• Tuesday, August 10th / 5:00 – 8:00pm &
• Wednesday, August 11th / 5:00 – 7:00pm
Students will sign up for a 15 minute time slot.

CHECKLIST FOR REGISTERING & AUDITIONS

  1. Register for the semester.
  2. Pay (click the link below).
  3. Sign up for a time slot for auditions.
  4. Be sure to read the audition packet! (will be emailed to you once you register).
  5. Prepare a song to audition with and familiarize yourself with the lines.
  6. Bring your audition packet to auditions
  7.  Sign all four policy/waivers found at the link below.
PAY

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS PRODUCTION

• Tuition is $375 and is NON REFUNDABLE after auditions. Please note that by registering you are committing financially and that you understand that we cannot offer refunds after auditions, even in unforeseen circumstances such as a pandemic. 

• Cast Size is limited and will fill up quickly. Tuition includes props, sets, mic rentals, cds, scripts, the rights to produce the play, and instructional time. There will be some costumes that parents will need to be responsible for.

• Everyone that registers will have a part in the show. 

• Children and parents are expected to follow and adhere to the policies listed on our kindness and policies contract. Should there be a continuing problem, the child will not be allowed to participate in Brittany Leazer Productions. 

• Tech week rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY 

OPEN SCHOOL

Open classes and shows are available to the public.
Anyone can take and participate in these classes and shows.

 

COMPANY

Company classes and shows refers to classes and shows only offered/available for company memberes (ie. Matilda the Musical, the musical revue, and company group classes for acting, musical theater, dance, and voice.
